Akums Lifesciences is the dedicated Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) division of Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited, India's largest contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). Formed through the strategic acquisition of Parabolic Drugs in 2021 and subsequently integrated into the group's operations, the company operates three specialized manufacturing facilities across Punjab and Haryana. It focuses on the development and large-scale production of a diverse portfolio of APIs, including cephalosporins, penems, and various non-beta lactam molecules for therapeutic areas such as oncology, diabetes, and cardiovascular health. The company's facilities are certified by major global regulatory bodies, including EU-GMP, WHO-GMP, and PMDA, enabling it to supply high-quality ingredients to both domestic and international markets. As a vertically integrated entity, Akums Lifesciences plays a crucial role in ensuring the supply chain resilience and cost-competitiveness of the parent group's extensive formulation business.
