Overview
Alacrity Biosciences developed two main programs targeting ophthalmic diseases. ALTY‑0501, a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor, completed a Phase 2 trial for dry eye with data presented at ARVO 2007 showing maintenance of corneal epithelial barrier integrity. ALTY‑0601, a small synthetic peptide targeting fibronectin receptors to increase aqueous outflow in glaucoma patients, showed promising pilot results but did not advance beyond early clinical development. The company is now out of business.
