Alamo Pharmaceuticals

Alamo Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of therapies for the central nervous system (CNS). The company's primary asset was FazaClo (clozapine), an orally disintegrating tablet formulation of the antipsychotic clozapine, which was the first of its kind approved by the FDA for treatment-resistant schizophrenia. In 2006, the company was acquired by Avanir Pharmaceuticals to bolster their CNS product portfolio. Following the acquisition, FazaClo became a key part of Avanir's commercial offerings before Avanir itself was later acquired by Otsuka Pharmaceutical.
