Company intelligence / Profile preview
Alapis was a leading Greek pharmaceutical and healthcare conglomerate that specialized in the production and distribution of generic medicines, veterinary products, and cosmetics. Formed through a series of high-profile mergers in 2007, the company quickly became a dominant player in the Southeast European market and was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. Its operations spanned the entire healthcare value chain, including research, manufacturing, and wholesale distribution. The company's downfall began in the early 2010s due to massive debt and its involvement in a high-profile financial scandal involving its chairman. Following the collapse of Proton Bank and the broader Greek financial crisis, Alapis entered insolvency and eventually ceased operations. Today, the company is inactive, having undergone liquidation and the sale of various business units.
