Albert Chem Werke

Chemische Werke Albert, often referred to as Albert Chem Werke, was a prominent German chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Wiesbaden-Biebrich. Founded in 1858 by Heinrich Albert, the company initially focused on phosphate fertilizers before diversifying into synthetic resins and pharmaceuticals. It is historically significant for developing some of the first synthetic resins and a variety of pharmaceutical products, including analgesics and anti-inflammatories. The company's innovations in polymer chemistry led to the development of early plastics and coating materials. In 1964, the company was acquired by Hoechst AG, and its operations were eventually fully integrated into the Hoechst group, which is now part of Sanofi.
