Company intelligence / Profile preview
Alder BioPharmaceuticals was a U.S. clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing therapeutic antibodies, with a particular emphasis on migraine prevention. Its lead asset was eptinezumab, an intravenous anti-CGRP monoclonal antibody developed for preventive treatment of migraine in adults. The company also advanced clazakizumab, an anti-Interleukin-6 monoclonal antibody that had been partnered with Bristol-Myers Squibb and later returned to Alder. Alder went public on NASDAQ under the symbol ALDR and was acquired by H. Lundbeck in October 2019 for up to approximately $1.95 billion net of cash. Following the acquisition, the business was integrated into Lundbeck's U.S. operations and the historical Alder entity ceased to operate as an independent public company.
