Alfesca

Alfesca was a prominent European producer and supplier of premium and convenience food products, specializing in "festive" categories such as smoked salmon, foie gras, and chilled shellfish. Originally founded in Iceland in 1932 as SÍF (Union of Icelandic Fish Producers), the company underwent a major strategic transformation in the early 2000s, shifting from seafood trading to value-added food processing through the acquisition of the Labeyrie Group. Headquartered in Reykjavik, Alfesca operated a network of production facilities across France, the United Kingdom, and Spain, marketing its products under well-known brands including Labeyrie, Blini, and Lyons. In 2009, the company was taken private by a consortium led by the French agricultural cooperative Lur Berri and was subsequently integrated into Labeyrie Fine Foods.
