Allegiance Healthcare was a leading manufacturer and distributor of medical, surgical, and laboratory products, serving hospitals and healthcare providers across North America. Spun off from Baxter International in 1996, the company specialized in high-volume medical supplies and supply chain management solutions designed to reduce hospital operating costs. Its extensive product line included surgical drapes, gowns, gloves, and custom sterile procedure kits, alongside a robust distribution network. In 1999, Allegiance was acquired by Cardinal Health for approximately $5.4 billion in stock. This acquisition transformed Cardinal Health into a comprehensive provider of both pharmaceutical and medical-surgical products and services.
