Alliance UniChem was a leading European pharmaceutical wholesaler and retailer formed in 1997 through the merger of the British company UniChem and the French-Italian group Alliance Santé. The company operated an extensive distribution network supplying medicines to thousands of independent pharmacies and hospitals across Europe. In addition to its wholesale operations, it managed a significant retail pharmacy portfolio, including the Moss Pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom. In 2006, Alliance UniChem merged with Boots Group to form Alliance Boots, which eventually became part of Walgreens Boots Alliance. The company played a pivotal role in the consolidation of the European pharmaceutical supply chain under the leadership of Stefano Pessina.
