Allied Clinical Laboratories

Allied Clinical Laboratories was a prominent provider of clinical diagnostic testing services in the United States, operating primarily during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, the company managed a broad network of regional laboratories that served physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers. It specialized in a wide array of routine and complex medical tests essential for patient diagnosis and monitoring. In 1994, the company was acquired by National Health Laboratories in a significant industry consolidation move. This acquisition eventually contributed to the formation of Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp), one of the world's largest clinical laboratory networks. At its peak, Allied Clinical Laboratories was recognized as one of the largest independent laboratory operators in the country.
