Allosteros Therapeutics

Allosteros Therapeutics was a biotechnology company focused on the development of novel small molecule inhibitors of Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The company utilized a proprietary platform to identify allosteric modulators that could selectively inhibit CaMKII, a protein kinase that plays a critical role in cardiac electrical activity and structural remodeling. Their primary research programs targeted indications such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and heart failure. In December 2011, Allosteros was acquired by Gilead Sciences for an upfront payment of $25 million, with additional payments contingent on development milestones.
