Allotrope Medical

Allotrope Medical is a Houston-based medical device company focused on improving safety and efficiency in pelvic and other minimally invasive surgeries. The company developed StimSite, an FDA-cleared smooth-muscle stimulation system that helps surgeons identify ureters and other critical structures during robotic and laparoscopic procedures using existing surgical instruments and workflow. Its technology is designed for use by general and OB/GYN surgeons and aims to reduce inadvertent ureter injury and related complications. Allotrope Medical was acquired by Northgate Technologies in April 2023, and its products now appear to be part of a broader surgical device portfolio.
