Company intelligence / Profile preview
Almost Family was a U.S. home healthcare services company focused on delivering in-home nursing, rehabilitation, personal care, and hospice services. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, it grew into a national provider with hundreds of branch locations across the United States and also operated healthcare innovation and home-based service initiatives. The company was not a drug developer or biotech company; instead, it operated a provider-services model centered on post-acute and community-based care. Almost Family merged with LHC Group effective April 1, 2018, after which its shares ceased trading on Nasdaq under the ticker AFAM. Through that transaction, Almost Family became a wholly owned subsidiary of LHC Group, which was later acquired by UnitedHealth Group.
