Aloha Independent Living Center

Aloha Independent Living Center (AILH) is a non-profit organization providing comprehensive support services to individuals with disabilities throughout the state of Hawaii. As a designated Independent Living Center, it offers five core services: information and referral, independent living skills training, peer counseling, individual and systems advocacy, and transition services. The organization is consumer-controlled, meaning at least 51% of its staff and board of directors are persons with disabilities, ensuring that services are designed by and for the community they serve. AILH works to eliminate physical and social barriers, promoting equal access and enabling its consumers to live independently within their chosen communities. Their programs are primarily funded through federal and state grants, focusing on empowerment, self-determination, and the integration of people with disabilities into all aspects of society.
