Alpha Corporation

Alpha Corporation is a Japanese ophthalmic medical device company focused on orthokeratology lenses for myopia correction and myopia-management related vision care. The company developed and commercializes ALPHA ORTHO-K, and it states that it was the first company in Japan to obtain marketing approval for orthokeratology lenses. Alpha has manufacturing roots in rigid gas permeable contact lenses and has expanded its orthokeratology business across Japan and multiple Asian markets including China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, India, and Vietnam. In 2016, Alpha became part of the Menicon Group, and it now operates as a Menicon subsidiary. Its business is centered on commercial-stage specialty contact lenses rather than a traditional drug-development biotech pipeline.
