Company intelligence / Profile preview
Alpha-O Peptides AG is a Swiss nano-biotechnology company specializing in the design, development, and commercialization of innovative vaccines and therapeutics. Founded in 2003 and based in Riehen, Switzerland, the company leverages its proprietary Self-Assembling Protein Nanoparticles (SAPN) platform to create highly immunogenic, multivalent vaccine candidates. The SAPN technology mimics the structural presentation of natural pathogens by displaying repetitive antigens, thereby inducing robust humoral and cellular immune responses. Alpha-O Peptides' lead program, FMP014, is a Phase 1 clinical-stage malaria vaccine candidate developed in collaboration with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). Beyond malaria, the company's versatile platform is being applied to develop vaccine candidates for other infectious diseases, including HIV, influenza, SARS, and toxoplasmosis, as well as for addictions and cancer.
