Company intelligence / Profile preview
Althin Healthcare was a renal care and medical device company focused on manufacturing and distributing hemodialysis products, including dialyzers and related artificial kidney systems for dialysis clinics in the U.S. and internationally. The business appears in later U.S. company databases as Althin Healthcare, Inc., while the broader operating business is also associated with Althin Medical AB in Sweden. Its products were commercial-stage medical devices used in extracorporeal blood purification rather than a drug-development pipeline. The company was acquired by Baxter in 2000 as part of Baxter's expansion in hemodialysis products. Following that transaction, Althin ceased to operate as an independent company.
