Altius Healthcare is a Canadian specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the commercialization of innovative and generic medicines. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Concord, Ontario, the company specializes in the acquisition and in-licensing of products for the Canadian market, with a particular focus on gastroenterology. Its portfolio has historically included the brand-name proton pump inhibitor Pantoloc (pantoprazole) and its generic equivalent, Alt-Pantoprazole. In January 2016, Altius was acquired by Knight Therapeutics Inc. for approximately $7.3 million in cash plus future milestones. It currently operates as a subsidiary of Knight Therapeutics, leveraging its parent company's extensive distribution network and regulatory expertise to provide specialty healthcare products across Canada.
