Overview

ALung’s Hemolung RAS provides minimally invasive, low-flow ECCO₂R for patients with acute respiratory failure. It can replace or supplement mechanical ventilation by removing CO₂ from venous blood via a single central venous catheter. The system reduces the need for intubation and mechanical ventilation, potentially lowering rates of ventilator-associated pneumonia and hospital stays. The device received CE Mark approval in Europe and later gained FDA approval in the US shortly before acquisition by LivaNova PLC.
