Ambri Limited was an Australian biotechnology company focused on the development of a proprietary biosensor technology known as the Ion Channel Switch (ICS). The technology utilized a synthetic biological membrane that mimicked the function of a human cell membrane to detect specific molecules, such as hormones, drugs, or pathogens, with high sensitivity. Despite significant investment and the development of a point-of-care diagnostic platform, the company faced technical and commercialization hurdles. Ambri eventually ceased operations and its intellectual property was liquidated or transitioned to other entities in the mid-2000s.
