The company is best known for developing the "Mosquito Magnet," a device that utilizes patented Counterflow technology to mimic human respiration by emitting carbon dioxide, heat, and moisture to lure and capture biting insects. Founded in 1991 and based in Rhode Island, the company initially provided surveillance tools for entomologists and government agencies before successfully expanding into the consumer market. Despite its rapid growth and significant impact on mosquito-borne disease prevention, the company faced financial challenges and entered receivership in 2006, after which its assets were acquired by Woodstream Corporation.
