American Botanical Drug Association

American Botanical Drug Association is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization focused on advancing FDA-regulated prescription botanical drugs and modern herbal medicines. The organization supports botanical drug research and development through regulatory and development services such as IND preclinical testing, IND/NDA submission support, and quality-control method development. It also publishes the open-access Botanical Drugs journal and maintains access to a large repository of botanical reference standards generated through HPLC-based analytical work. Rather than operating as a traditional therapeutics developer with a disclosed internal clinical pipeline, ABDA appears to function primarily as an industry association and service platform supporting sponsors, researchers, and manufacturers in botanical drug development.
