American Cities Foundation

The American Cities Foundation (ACF) was a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization dedicated to urban policy, economic development, and community health. Founded by former U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah, the foundation implemented various programs aimed at improving educational outcomes, workforce readiness, and public health in urban environments. Its health-related activities primarily focused on community health outreach and drug demand reduction initiatives supported by federal appropriations. While not a life sciences research firm, the foundation's leadership has included prominent figures in the biotech industry, such as Audrey Greenberg, who later co-founded major cell and gene therapy manufacturing hubs in the Philadelphia region. The organization became largely inactive following the legal challenges faced by its founder in the mid-2010s.
