Company intelligence / Profile preview
The American Managed Care and Review Association (AMCRA) was a prominent national trade association representing the interests of managed care organizations, including health maintenance organizations (HMOs) and preferred provider organizations (PPOs). The organization provided legislative advocacy, industry research, and educational programs to support the growth and regulation of managed care in the United States. In 1995, AMCRA merged with the Group Health Association of America (GHAA) to form the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP). This successor entity eventually merged with the Health Insurance Association of America to become AHIP, the leading national association for the health insurance industry.
