AmpliMed's lead compound Amplimexon showed promising results in Phase I/II trials for metastatic melanoma. When combined with dacarbazine, patients with less advanced disease had a survival advantage of 11.7 months compared to approximately 8 months for dacarbazine-treated historical controls. The drug demonstrated relatively infrequent side effects even when administered with full-dose chemotherapy.
