AMRA’s technology has received regulatory clearances in the US (FDA), Canada (MDEL), and Europe (CE mark) as a clinical decision-support tool. It enables rapid whole-body MRI scans to be analyzed for precise quantification of fat and muscle volumes. The resulting biomarkers are used in clinical care to assess risk factors such as visceral adiposity or sarcopenia—enabling more individualized patient management—and in research/clinical trials to evaluate drug effects on body composition. Recent studies using the technology have provided new insights into the impact of GLP‑1 receptor agonists like liraglutide or tirzepatide on muscle/fat distribution in obesity/type 2 diabetes patients.
