Anaconda Biomed has developed the ANA (Advanced Neurovascular Access) funnel catheter system for mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke. Preclinical and early clinical studies have demonstrated safety and efficacy. The device aims to improve clot retrieval efficiency and reduce complications during thrombectomy procedures.
In vitro, in vivo (swine model), and initial human studies have been published showing promising results for clot removal with reduced risk of fragmentation or embolization.
The ATHENA clinical trial has begun enrolling patients in the U.S.
