Company intelligence / Profile preview
Anaxiom Corporation was a San Diego-based biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of small molecule inhibitors targeting the deubiquitinating enzyme USP7. The company's research centered on the role of USP7 in regulating the stability of key proteins involved in tumor suppression and immune evasion, such as p53 and MDM2. By inhibiting USP7, Anaxiom aimed to restore natural tumor-suppressive pathways and enhance the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy cancer cells. In October 2015, Anaxiom was acquired by Progenra, a leader in the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) space, to bolster Progenra's oncology pipeline and drug discovery platform. The integration of Anaxiom's assets allowed Progenra to accelerate its efforts in developing novel therapeutics for various cancers and immunological disorders.
