Androplex

Androplex was a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development of testosterone replacement therapies, primarily focusing on innovative transdermal delivery systems. The company's lead product candidate was a testosterone patch designed to treat male hypogonadism by providing a controlled, steady release of the hormone through the skin. Androplex's research and development efforts were closely linked to clinical studies conducted at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. In 1997, the company was acquired by Unimed Pharmaceuticals for approximately $15 million in stock. Following the acquisition, its technology was integrated into Unimed's endocrinology portfolio, which eventually became part of Solvay Pharmaceuticals and later AbbVie.
