Angiometrx

Angiometrx Inc. was a Canadian medical device company that developed the Metricath System, a specialized balloon catheter technology for intravascular measurement. The Metricath device allowed clinicians to accurately measure the diameter and cross-sectional area of arteries and stents during interventional procedures, providing an alternative to intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). Founded in the late 1990s and based in Richmond, British Columbia, the company was acquired by Medical Ventures Corp (later Neovasc Inc.) in 2003. Although the Metricath System received FDA clearance and was marketed globally, Neovasc discontinued the product line in 2009 to focus on other cardiovascular technologies. Angiometrx was officially amalgamated into Neovasc Medical Inc. in 2015.
