Company intelligence / Profile preview
Angion Biomedica was a U.S. clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on small-molecule therapeutics for acute organ injury and fibrotic disease. Its lead asset, ANG-3777, was a hepatocyte growth factor mimetic intended to activate tissue-repair pathways and was studied in delayed graft function after kidney transplantation, cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury, and acute lung injury. The company also advanced ANG-3070, an oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor for fibrotic kidney and lung diseases, and maintained preclinical ROCK2 and CYP11B2 inhibitor programs. After multiple clinical setbacks and a strategic review in 2022, Angion merged with Elicio Therapeutics in June 2023, and the combined company continued under the Elicio Therapeutics name.
