Company intelligence / Profile preview
Anka Behavioral Health was a California-based nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider focused on community mental health, crisis intervention, residential treatment, outpatient services, housing support, vocational services, and related social services. Founded in 1973, the organization partnered with public and private sector behavioral health agencies and at its peak operated dozens of programs serving individuals with serious mental illness and other behavioral health needs. Rather than a drug-development biotech or pharma company, Anka functioned as a healthcare services organization delivering recovery-oriented behavioral health programs. In May 2019, the company announced an orderly wind-down of its residential treatment programs and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and later case records indicate the bankruptcy proceeded under Chapter 7. Historical nonprofit records show it had substantial California operations and nearly $46.7 million of revenue in fiscal 2017.
