Anthera VMT

Anthera Pharmaceuticals was a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing medicines for patients with unmet medical needs, particularly in inflammation and autoimmune diseases. The company's lead programs included Sollpura (liprotamase), an investigational non-porcine enzyme replacement therapy for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and blisibimod, a selective antagonist of B-cell activating factor (BAFF) for systemic lupus erythematosus. Despite reaching late-stage clinical trials, several of Anthera's key programs failed to meet primary endpoints, leading to the company's eventual liquidation. The company ceased operations and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in early 2019.
