AorTx was a medical device company focused on the development of a percutaneous valve for the treatment of aortic stenosis. The company's primary innovation was a minimally invasive aortic valve replacement system designed to be delivered via catheter, providing a less traumatic alternative to traditional open-heart surgery. In 2009, AorTx was acquired by Hansen Medical to integrate its valve technology with Hansen's flexible robotic catheter platforms. This combination was intended to enhance the precision and control of valve placement during transcatheter procedures. Following subsequent corporate transactions, the technology's lineage moved through Auris Health to Johnson & Johnson.
