Aphaia's lead drug candidate, an oral glucose formulation (APHD-012), has completed enrollment in two Phase 2 trials - one for chronic weight management in individuals with obesity and another to improve glucose tolerance in individuals with prediabetes. In a Phase 1 trial, the formulation induced therapeutically relevant release of enteric hormones including GLP-1, PYY, glicentin, and oxyntomodulin. Topline data for the obesity trial was anticipated in Q3 and Q4 2024 for Arms 1 and 2 respectively.
