Aphton

Aphton was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing targeted immunotherapies for cancer. Its lead product, Insegia™, was an anti-gastrin vaccine targeting gastrointestinal cancers and reached late-stage clinical development. Through the acquisition of Igeneon AG in March 2005, Aphton added IGN101 (a cancer vaccine against EpCAM-positive tumors) and IGN311 (a fully humanized antibody against the Lewis Y antigen) to its pipeline. The company had strategic alliances with Xoma and Daiichi Pure Chemicals but faced financial challenges and dissolved key partnerships by late 2005. There is no evidence that any products reached commercialization or that the company remains active.
