Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation

Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) is the not-for-profit education and research arm of the Apollo Hospitals ecosystem in India. Established in 1992 and recognized by India’s Department of Scientific and Industrial Research as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, it conducts medical education, clinical and translational research, training, and healthcare innovation programs. The organization supports basic, translational, epidemiological, and clinical research, with stated focus areas including biomarkers, assay systems, cell therapies, diagnostics, liquid biopsy, molecular diagnostics, pharmacogenetics, and exosomes. AHERF also runs academic and fellowship programs, supports proof-of-concept research by Apollo clinicians, and collaborates with universities and hospitals in India and abroad. Rather than a single-product biotech developer, it functions as a healthcare research and education platform embedded within the broader Apollo Hospitals Group.
