Company intelligence / Profile preview
ApotheCure was a Dallas-based compounding pharmacy that specialized in providing customized medications, including sterile injectables and hormone replacement therapies. The company was a major player in the compounding industry until it faced severe legal and regulatory challenges following a 2007 incident involving fatal doses of compounded colchicine. In 2012, ApotheCure and its owner pleaded guilty to federal misdemeanor charges related to the distribution of misbranded drugs. These events, along with other compounding scandals, significantly influenced the creation of the Drug Quality and Security Act of 2013. The company is no longer active in its original capacity.
