Applied MEMS, Inc. was a micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) company based in Stafford, Texas, that specialized in high-performance silicon sensors and microfluidic devices. Originally a subsidiary of Input/Output, Inc., the company operated a 35,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and provided foundry services for the life sciences, aerospace, and energy sectors. Applied MEMS was notably involved in the development of the "Programmable Fluid Processor" (PFP) in collaboration with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, a platform designed for droplet-based biological analysis and biowarfare detection. The company's core products included the Si-Flex™ line of high-resolution accelerometers used in seismic exploration and vibration monitoring. In December 2004, Applied MEMS was acquired by the Swiss MEMS manufacturer Colibrys SA, which was later acquired by Safran.
