Aqua Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the acquisition, development, and commercialization of branded prescription dermatology products. The company maintained a robust portfolio of FDA-approved treatments for common skin conditions, including acne, actinic keratosis, and various forms of dermatitis. Key products in its commercial lineup included Monodox for acne, Cordran for inflammatory dermatoses, and Xolegel for seborrheic dermatitis. In 2013, the company was acquired by the Spanish pharmaceutical giant Almirall to serve as its primary platform for expansion into the United States dermatology market. Following the acquisition, Aqua was eventually rebranded as Almirall, LLC in 2018.
