Araminta Freedom Initiative

Araminta Freedom Initiative is a Baltimore-based non-profit organization dedicated to dismantling child sex trafficking through education, prevention, and restorative services. Founded in 2010, the organization provides trauma-informed, evidence-based clinical support and mentoring to survivors of trafficking and exploitation. Araminta works closely with the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force and local community partners to identify at-risk youth and provide comprehensive aftercare. Their mission focuses on 'awakening, equipping, and mobilizing' the community to protect children and restore hope to those affected by modern slavery. The organization is named in honor of Harriet Tubman, whose birth name was Araminta Ross.
