Arapahoe Chemicals

Arapahoe Chemicals was a pioneering fine chemical manufacturer founded in 1946 in Boulder, Colorado. The company gained a strong reputation for producing high-quality reagents, pharmaceutical intermediates, and specialty organic chemicals, notably Grignard reagents. In 1965, Arapahoe Chemicals was acquired by Syntex Corporation, serving as a critical production site for Syntex's expanding pharmaceutical line. Following Roche's acquisition of Syntex in 1994, the facility transitioned into the Roche Colorado operations. The site was eventually sold to CordenPharma in 2011, where it continues to operate as a major contract manufacturing facility. Arapahoe Chemicals is remembered as a foundational entity in Colorado's biotechnology and chemical industry.
