Arbor Photonics

Arbor Photonics was a developer of high-power fiber lasers and specialty optical fibers based on its proprietary Chirally-Coupled Core (3C) technology. Founded in 2007 as a spin-out from the University of Michigan, the company provided laser solutions for industrial materials processing, microelectronics manufacturing, and medical device fabrication. Its 3C technology enabled high-brightness, single-mode output from large-core fibers, overcoming traditional power-scaling limitations in fiber lasers. The company was backed by investors including Arboretum Ventures and RPM Ventures. In November 2012, Arbor Photonics was acquired by nLIGHT, a global leader in high-power semiconductor and fiber lasers.
