Company intelligence / Profile preview
Aries Ventures was a specialty pharmaceutical holding company, primarily known for its operating subsidiary Aries Pharmaceuticals, which focused on commercializing gastroenterology products in the United States. The company was a subsidiary of Cosmo Pharmaceuticals and was established to build a U.S. commercial presence for Cosmo's GI portfolio. Its lead products included Eleview, a submucosal injectable composition for endoscopic procedures, and Aemcolo, a rifamycin-based antibiotic for traveler's diarrhea. In 2018, Aries Pharmaceuticals merged with RedHill Biopharma, integrating its sales force and product line into RedHill's operations. This transaction allowed RedHill to expand its U.S. commercial footprint while Cosmo Pharmaceuticals became a significant shareholder in RedHill. The merger effectively transitioned Aries' commercial infrastructure to RedHill to support the launch of multiple GI-focused therapies.
