Ariston Pharmaceuticals was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on neurology and CNS disorders. Its lead candidate, AST-915 (propranolol hydrochloride), completed Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of essential tremor. Another lead candidate, AST-726, an intranasal spray formulation, successfully completed Phase 2 trials for Vitamin B12 deficiency, demonstrating that therapeutic levels of Vitamin B12 could be delivered effectively via the nasal mucosa. The company was acquired in 2010, and its programs were largely discontinued thereafter.
