Company intelligence / Profile preview
Arivale was a consumer healthcare company focused on "scientific wellness," a concept pioneered by co-founder Dr. Leroy Hood. The company provided a subscription-based service that integrated whole-genome sequencing, clinical blood analytes, gut microbiome analysis, and wearable device data to create a comprehensive personal health profile. Members were paired with registered dietitians and health coaches to interpret this data and implement personalized lifestyle changes aimed at optimizing health and preventing disease. Despite significant venture backing and a high-profile launch, the company ceased operations in April 2019. The closure was primarily attributed to the high operational costs of providing intensive, data-driven services relative to the price consumers were willing to pay.
