Company intelligence / Profile preview
Arnaki Therapeutics was a San Diego-based biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The company's primary research centered on targeting the RORγt (retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor gamma t) transcription factor, which is a master regulator of Th17 cell differentiation and pro-inflammatory cytokine production. Founded as a spin-out from the California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr), Arnaki leveraged deep expertise in immunology to develop potent and selective oral antagonists. In December 2017, the company was acquired by Ono Pharmaceutical following a successful research collaboration and option agreement. The acquisition allowed for the further clinical development of Arnaki's lead RORγt programs for conditions such as psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease.
