ARV Assisted Living was a leading American provider of assisted living and senior housing services, primarily focused on the elderly population. Established in 1981, the company operated a vast network of residential communities offering a spectrum of care, including independent living, assisted living, and specialized programs for residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. As a pioneer in the industry, ARV helped transition senior care from clinical nursing home environments to more residential, service-oriented settings. The company was publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol ARVI until its acquisition in 2003. Following its acquisition by an affiliate of Lazard Freres Real Estate Investors, its portfolio was integrated into Atria Senior Living.
