Company intelligence / Profile preview
Arvelle Therapeutics was a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative therapies for patients suffering from central nervous system (CNS) disorders. The company's lead asset was cenobamate (marketed as Ontozry in Europe), a small molecule anti-seizure medication licensed from SK Biopharmaceuticals for the European market. Cenobamate received European Commission approval in 2021 for the treatment of focal-onset seizures in adults with epilepsy. Arvelle was founded in 2019 with one of the largest initial funding rounds for a European-focused biopharmaceutical company. In early 2021, the company was acquired by Angelini Pharma in a transaction valued at up to $960 million, integrating Arvelle's operations into Angelini's CNS portfolio.
