Ascension Southeast Michigan

Ascension Southeast Michigan was the southeast Michigan regional hospital and care delivery network of Ascension, a large U.S. non-profit Catholic health system. It operated hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory sites, imaging, emergency, specialty, and community health programs across the Detroit metropolitan area and surrounding counties. The organization was a healthcare provider rather than a drug-development biotech or pharma company, so it did not have a therapeutic pipeline in the conventional life sciences sense. Its services emphasized acute care, outpatient care, community benefit programs, school-based health centers, and population health initiatives. As of October 1, 2024, Ascension's southeast Michigan and Genesys assets were combined with Henry Ford Health in a joint venture, and the legacy Ascension Southeast Michigan operations are now effectively part of Henry Ford Health rather than operating as a standalone active entity.
